More About Us
The Food Pantry for H.E.L.P. Inc. was originally founded in 1981 by Father John Domas who saw the need to assist low income individuals and families residing in the San Gorgonio Pass area, including the following communities: Banning (including Poppet Flats), Beaumont, Cabazon, Calimesa, Cherry Valley and Whitewater. From a small drop-in center in Beaumont, H.E.L.P. Inc. enlarged its services by purchasing the current building in Banning to include a food pantry warehouse, reception/intake area and thrift store all with ample parking.
H.E.L.P. Inc., established as a non-profit agency, is qualified to operate within the guidelines of the 501(c)(3) status. Under the non-profit status, H.E.L.P., Inc. is served by EFSP (Emergency Food & Shelter Program), Feeding America, and USDA. Additionally, when funds are available, it is possible to assist clients with their gas bill through Southern California Gas, and various other needs. . .
